A Journey worth telling

The Emirambi Story

In the heart of Uganda’s rolling emerald hills, just ten minutes from the Rushaga Gate of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, lies a hidden sanctuary: Emirambi Gorilla Safari Lodge. Emirambi—meaning hills in the local language—offers a peaceful escape nestled among misty slopes and lush forest canopies. Designed with intention and heart, the lodge blends midrange comfort with the natural elegance of its surroundings, offering panoramic views, handcrafted cottages, and warm hospitality rooted in the culture of the people who call these hills home.

The Beginning

Our Story

Perched on the scenic slopes of Kempungu Hill—translated as “The Hill of Eagles”—Emirambi Gorilla Safari Lodge is more than just a place to stay; it is a sanctuary where the soul reconnects with nature. Just 15 minutes from the Rushaga Visitor Information Center in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, our lodge offers a front-row seat to one of Africa’s most extraordinary wildlife experiences—gorilla trekking.

The name Emirambi comes from the local word for “hills”, inspired by the surrounding highlands that breathe life, whisper calm, and offer healing views. From every angle, the lodge is wrapped in a poetic landscape—rolling hills, golden sunrises, misty valleys, and bird calls that welcome the dawn.

Since opening, we have welcomed guests from around the world, offering them more than just accommodation—we’ve shared experiences. From cozy fireside evenings to early morning gorilla treks and silent sunset gazes, Emirambi has become a part of many unforgettable journeys.

Every Night You Stay, You Give Water to Many

Our Community Water Project

At Emirambi Gorilla Safari Lodge, we believe that tourism should not only celebrate nature—it should also uplift the people who live closest to it.

One of the biggest challenges faced by the local community around our lodge is access to clean and reliable water. Situated at an elevation of approximately 2,000 meters above sea level, water scarcity remains a daily struggle for many families here.

In response, we launched The Emirambi Community Water Project—a heartfelt initiative to bring sustainable water solutions to our neighboring villages.
This is not something we do alone. We do it with you, our guest.

For every night you spend at our lodge, $5 is directly contributed to this project, helping us inch closer to a life-changing goal.

What the Project Involves:

  • Procurement of a water pump to support consistent access
  • Drilling of a community borehole to reach underground water sources
  • Installation of a high-capacity reservoir to store and supply clean water throughout the area

This isn’t just a one-time donation—it’s a long-term commitment to dignity, health, and sustainable development. Clean water means children can go to school instead of fetching water. It means fewer waterborne illnesses. It means hope.
Stay with us—and together, we can solve this.
